Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia is the Ship Systems Engineering Station (SESS) in support of the NSWC Carderock Division. It provides research, development, tests, evaluation, acquisition support, systems integration, in-service engineering, and fleet support for surface and undersea vehicles, ship systems, and equipment. NSWCCD-SESS is under the command of NAVSEA.
